Boil/abscess?: Could be just what you thought, ..A boil, or abscess, or a carbuncle, infected hair follicle, etc. The treatment is usually incision and drainage, and it sounds as though your body "auto i&d'd" itself. Keep the area clean and use a topical antibiotic cream to keep it from getting re-infected. If it does not go away all together or returns, go to see a dr. For definitive diagnosis and treatment.

A boil.: Probably just that - a boil. A localized infection of the superficial skin. It might have started with an ingrown hair.

Sebaceous cyst: You had a boil in your inner thigh. It drained spontaneously then clear fluid. It could be a sebaceous cyst, which drain sebaceous fluid after. It could be an infected hair follicle if you shave in that area. Keep it clean and dry. If it drains and you can't stop it from soaking on your clothes then see a surgeon for excision.
