No: Drops used to treat ear infection only work if your daughter if she has tubes in her ears or if she has an external otitis (infection in the ear canal, not the middle ear.) if she has tubes in, you can't use the ophthalmic solution in the middle ear, because the ph of the solution is not right for that area. If no tubes and she has a middle ear infection to where she can't sleep, oral antibiotics.

Talk to MD: Most ear infections are caused by a virus and cannot be treated with antibiotics. Talk to your pediatrician about other options.

See pediatrician: While you might get lucky and have an organism in your 2 yo's ear that will be sensitive to cipro, (ciprofloxacin) it is also possible it is resistant since Cipro (ciprofloxacin) has already been applied to the eye previously. As an important sensory organ, the ear should best be inspected by your pediatrician if there is a problem; there are other antibiotics some designed for the ear, and viral infection is also common.
