Complex carbs. : Try to eat a light meal of complex carbohydrates and fiber about two hours before exercising. This will hopefully assure that you'll have an adequate supply of carbohydrates to avoid hypoglycemia during exercise. You should check your blood sugar after exercising as a gauge to make sure your carbohydrate supply is carrying you through.
