Cysts are harmless: Cysts by definition are collection of non infectious fluid . If the content is pus , the term we use is called abscess . Abscess could be dangerous and depending on the location it might endanger life. Antibiotics are helpless against abscess at times due to inability to penetrate the collection. The best treatment for abscess is incision and drainage
