Hello. : Hello. This sounds like a bacterial infection. It could have started with an infected hair follicle. Staphylococcus aureus is often the cause. You can place warm compresses on the cyst for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Replace the compress as it cools. This can be done every few hours. Since this is a recurrent problem, recommend that you see your regular doctor or a dermatologist to determine the cause. Don't handle, lance or squeeze it as that can cause the infection to spread. If you get redness, swelling and warmth in the surrounding skin - it could be a sign of cellulitis. Take care.
