Ask your doctor: Urinalysis checks for urinary tract infection, diabetes, proteinuria or pus cells (Kidney disease) blood to rule out cancer. Finger prick can check your blood count or hematocrit i.e. ? anemia, blood sugar. Most blood tests require more blood than can be obtained by finger prick. Never feel shy about questioning your Dr.
