Call it what you wan: Doesn't matter what you call it, you're at least at prediabetes and well on your way to real diabetes. You're probably overweight with your positive family history. Going from normal to pre to diabetes isn't like falling off a cliff - it's a slow and gradual transition. Don't wait for a specific diagnosis. Then it's too late. Start diet/exercise maybe medication now. See your doctor.
