The FDA hasn't approved this antidiabetic medication for just losing weight. It works essentially by making you feel full as it slows down digestion. I'm put off by so many possible side effects. I still recommend consulting a dietician at your local hospital who'll tell you your ideal weight, tell you how many daily calories you need, critique your eating habits& give you sample diets you use.

The drugmaker has begun looking at Rybelsus for weight loss in patients without diabetes, and the initial results seem positive. But it’s too early to say, and the dose studied is much higher than the strength in currently approved Rybelsus tablets. Currently, Rybelsus is only approved for adults with type 2 diabetes and not specifically for weight loss.
