Thoughts? could salt water help form a blood clot after tooth extraction?

Clot: Saltwater won't help it form but it will help soothe the area and kill bacteria.

No: Rinsing and gargling may, however, dislodge a blood clot, causing a dry socket condition. I would avoid rinsing and disturbing the extraction site.
