A member asked:

I have an enlarged spleen and slightly low wbc. what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many possibilities: The spleen is a store-house as well as a place to possible breakdown lymphocytes and red blood cells. In this case, I am not sure why the spleen is enlarged -- but it may be due to an increased red blood cell mass, spherocytosis, and other hematologic dyscrasias. You should probably have additional hematologic evaluation.
