No known prevenion: The term "arteritis" simply means inflamed arteries. It is part of a larger group of diseases known as vasculitis. They are autoimmune in nature with most having no known mechanism. Some forms of vasculitis are associated with hepatitis b and some are result of medications and infections. Several types have genetic and ethnic predisposition such as bechet's disease and takayasu's arteritis.
