Are there things i can do myself to treat back injury?

Depends on the cause: Depends on the cause of thepain. Some syndromes can be made worse by "home remedies" and others can be helped by stretching and excercise. Clearly you should find the cause through a thorough exam and get recommendations from a reputable pain specialist before risking home treatment.

Rest: The best initial treatment is rest, moist heat and some nsaid medication. Obviously after after a few days, symptoms persist or if there is a radicular component, orthopedic followup would be reasonable.
