Let's analyze: A small stroke could have occurred yrs ago, but the MRI was recently done due to clinical complaints. This lesion may not represent any future risk if not associated with current diseases, but, could you have a cardiac issue that puts you at risk? An echo with bubble could help reassure. Are the blood vessels in your neck patent? Have prior blood studies been reassuring? Have records reviewed.

There may not be any: If you are unhappy by all means consult another physician. At your age a brain infarction should be worked up to determine the cause. If you are using oral birth control medication that could lead to clot formation. You should have a complete medical work up to find the reason for the infarction. There may not be any specific treatment to reverse what you have now but a work up is needed.

No: Lacunar infarcts are ischemic infarcts common in older people with long history of hypertension. At your age you need extensive work up including ruling out procoagulant conditions.
