Discrete vertigo: Bppv typically presents with recurrent spells of vertigo that are severe but short-lived. There is a very clear spinning sensation associated with marked nausea, and bystanders may notice jerking of the eyes. The spells are often triggered by head movement (e.g. Rolling over in bed), and can be treated by a specific exercise program called the epley manuver.
