Treatable: Amlodipine is very effective but at this level it usually takes more than one pill to control pressure. It doesnt have to come down immediately all the way to normal as she might get dizzy, but chances are she will need another pill. She can reduce the need for meds by avoiding salt & sugar, control weight, limit alcohol to 1 glass daily, and increase daily walking when doc says she's ready.
