Bad idea: Seeing different doctors for the same problem is okay as long as they know what other treatments you have been receiving. Keeping them in the dark on other treatments is potentially hazardous. In your case, Levaquin (levofloxacin) and steroids together can lead to certain issues with your tendons that the doctor would have counseled you about. I would pick your favorite of the 2 mds and ask what they think.

Hello. There are many different medications for infections. We choose to perform an endoscopic culture to provide “best practices” or culture directed medical therapy. Sometimes depending on the exam and degree of disease, we may recommend antibiotics and prednisone taken at the same time. A CT scan also is helpful to provide all the information needed for best outcomes. Good luck.
