A member asked:

I have a 6mm mass in my left thyroid love and it's considered diffuse heterogeneous. what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nonspecific: A 6 mm thyroid nodule is small. We usually do not worry about nodules under 10 mm. A diffusely heterogeneous thyroid is commonly seen in patients with hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is an autoimmune disorder that can result in an underactive thyroid. You list being on immunosuppressive therapy. If you have one autoimmune disorder, you are at higher risk for another.
