Uterine lining: What your doctor likely saw was a thickened uterine lining. The ovary doesn't have a 'lining' per se. The ovary makes a follicle (a small cyst where the egg was released from), but the uterus is where the lining is made in preparation for a fertilized egg. Thick linings are also very normal right before a period, so the 2 could easily look the same. Hope that helps!
