Melanocyte problem: This is not like albino condition where all pigment cells (melanocytes) fail to produce melanin. It is characterized by a localized diminished tendency to produce sufficient pigment to surrounding normal melanocytes. Typically these can occasionally be stimulated to produce more melanin using special lights.
