Please help!in hospital for 2 days. worried that to much air got in regular iv line today and kinda freaked out.i have a vsd and the tube looked empty to me. how fast would a air emboli show symptoms?

Would have by now: Headache, minor stroke type symptoms or a seizure. Any air in an IV in patient with vsd or ASD is inexcuseable. Sympathize with your freaking out.

Air embolism: It takes about 5 cc per kilo or approximately 100 cc for an air embolism to occur symptoms can occur rapidly and even faster when a septal defectis present.

Air embolus: An air embolus would show up immediately, relax...But be watchful as you were; it doesn't hurt to keep an eye out.
