You'rre Right: Probability is pe was caused by deep vein thrombosis, which causes calf discomfort. Probability is right calf charlie hore was a symptom of deep vein thrombosis & resulted in your pe. Other possibilities are rare.

Maybe: It is hard to tell. Most pe are from leg DVT (clots). People with leg DVT may have swelling and or leg discomfort.
