Too many to list: There are too many possible causes to list in this space. It can be positive in autoimmune diseases, infections, rarely in malignancies and sometimes in normal persons.

Possibly normal: Up to 5% of healthy people may have a low titer ana. Lupus and other autoimmune diseases and sarcoidosis are possiblities. Diagnosis is on the basis of associated findings, not the ANA by itself.
