When you have a + ANA there are many other tests that need to be done. The first is the history and physical to clarify the symptoms and signs. Then there are many other blood tests other laboratory findings that need to be done.

Ask your doctor: ANA stands for antinuclear antibody and is a very good test to help you diagnosed autoimmune diseases like lupus but the fact that is positive alone may not mean anything. Actually healthy individuals can have a positive test, others that have been infected with certain type of virus also can have a positive test, sometimes is positive in thyroid disease, etc.
