Injections, surgery: You can avoid carpal tunnel syndrome (cts) by wearing braces on your wrists, but once you have it, the best treatment is surgery. You can try injections of steroids, but cts doesn't respond well to this. It is very important that if you have weakness or numbness that you seek an operation right away; this kind of damage can be permanent if it's not treated promptly!

Depends: This is usually a traumatically or repeated stress inflammation of the median nerve as it passes through a narrowed space at the wrist called the carpal tunnel. Nsaids can be helpful, physical therapy and rest are useful, but if there is muscular atrophy or chronic numbness or pain, you might need an unroofing surgery best performed by a hand surgeon.

With a phone call: Go see your doc in order to make the correct diagnosis and then they can tell the next step to treat depending on your symtoms. Not all capal tunnel needs surgery but an accurate diagnosis is a must.

Splint: Rest, night splint, vitamin b6 100mg / day, over the counter anti-inflammatory meds and ergonomic changes to work space. If that fails then cortisone injection and surgery (endoscopic).
