A member asked:

Fast heart rate for over an hour while seated. then jumped upon standing and felt like going to passout.normal ekg at er after eposode. normal 4 pots?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In some ways: The 2nd half would be typical for pots, but it doesn't really explain initial palpitations. Any tachycardia that compromises cardiac output (e.g., svt, vtach, ectopic atrial tachycardia) could produce dizziness with sudden changes in position though. Sounds like more testing is needed--like a holter & a tilt table test. Count your heart rate with other episodes-->will help your md with evaluation.
