Go to the ER: From your description, i would worry that you have subcutaneous emphysema which suggests a spontaneous pneumothorax. Medical mumbo-jumbo but potentially serious. Go to the er for a chest x-ray as soon as possible.

I have been waking at night with a sort of "tightness" along my sternum with what I would describe as uncomfortable (not painful) breathing. It is also accompanied by an anxious feeling. The chest tightness and anxiousness is also present some during the day (today, for example, it was present most of the day off and on) and seems to be worse if I am sitting or laying down, opposed to standing. Had gallbladder removed 2 years ago. 1 year ago after 3rd pancreatitis attack I went for Ercp with sphincterotomy.I now get uncomfortable feeling of a large bubble passing through a tight spot under right ribs. Mostly when lying down after dinner.
