Inflamed taste bud?: Without professional training and experience, first i'm not convinced that you can properly diagnose what you have. Perhaps it's not an inflamed taste bud at all. Secondly, i would not suggest trying to perform surgery on yourself, no matter how easy it might seem. What i would suggest is seeing a dentist to verity the lesion and then find out how best to treat it.

INFLAMED TASTEBUD?: How do you know it is a tastebud? It could be an ulcer or a virus. Is it swollen or protruding? Is it discolored, red or white?

Taste bud irritation: It helps to know the cause of the inflammation. If caused by trauma, in a few days, the inflamed taste bud will typically return to normal. If it does not return to normal within a few days, it should be assessed by a dentist or physician. The trauma of cutting it off would be far worse than the original inflammation itself however.

Excisional biopsy: It's safe to have someone trained in the head and neck region of the body to remove the lesion. An example would be, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. They should also be able to send the lesion to pathology to ensure that it is not cancerous.
