No: This is more indicative of the kinds of food he has been eating. From time to time there have been some anecdotes about bowel function and its relationship to autism, but there is no direct correlation with diet, stools or GI symptoms in the majority of children with autism.

No: I have reviewed some lab reports from mega labs that propose a normal value and suggest treatments when this normal component of the poo is found above their normal values.This is pure pseudo-science or snake oil. It does reach the autism community and embraced by some.Of course they will want you to repeat the studies several times to see if treatment worked.

Anecdotal stories: There ae investigators looing into the relationship between leaky gut, yeast and autism. I have seen patients who have taken nystatin, a medication to treat yeast infections, whose parents feel there has been a benefit.
