Common: A fibroid is a benign mass of the uterus. They are very common. If they are large or close to the endometrium they can sometimes cause symptoms such as heavy periods. Frequently pregnancy (estrogen) causes enlargement so it is a good chance it will shrink after delivery.Because they are located in the wall of uterus, it is extraordinarily rare to interfere with pregnancy.

Fibroid = benign: Smooth muscle growth (technically a tumor) in the uterus. They are quite common, and given that size should not cause any problems, especially if it is no where near the placenta.
