Clotting factors: Clotting factors are produced in the liver. So with liver cirrhosis one could sometimes bruise or bleed. With liver cirrhosis there could be increase pressure in blood vessels in the esophagus which could also bleed. I recommend you follow up with your pcp.

Low platelets : Cirrhosis of deliver is usually associated with decreased platelet counts. This decrease can lead to bleeding both on a small scale and a larger scale. So the answer to your question is yes. Cirrhosis of the liver could cause either.

Bleeding gums: You need to be very careful. You want to make sure your teeth are being cleaned well at the dentist and u are meticulous at home. See a periodontist if your not confident in your hygienist. Bleeding gums can be a pathway of bacteria into the rest of the body. It can also be a window into your overall health. Tip of iceberg. Be proactive. Gums should not bleed. Check out ztbg or aaosh on web.
