Have sling removed: Best performed by urologist or experienced uro-gynecologist, my preference is for the former. Eroded sling must be removed. Hopefully bladder &/or urethra will heal after sling removal & not require repair.

Need evaluation: If a sling erodes into any organ or causes problems like pelvic pain or painful intercourse it can be removed. Usually the results are good. Depending on severity and location of erosion their may be need for additional surgery but this can usually be done with one procedure. You need a surgeon with a lot of experience handling mesh related complications.

Removal: Sling erosions are treated surgically with repair of organs as indicated. This usually involves either the bladder, the urethra, or the vaginal wall. Once this is accomplished, follow-up treatments may still be required to treat resulting bladder control issues.
