NO: Insulin is the treatment for type i diabetes mellitus. These individuals do not make enough insulin, and must have supplemental insulin. While diet and exercise are important, they do not reverse it. Type ii diabetes patients have Insulin resistance-and may benefit from dietary management, weight loss and exercise. At times, type ii diabetes patients may reverse their need for medication.

No: The only way to treat type 1 diabetes is to replace the Insulin that the pancreas no longer makes. Studies have failed to find supplements to reverse the process or even slow it down.
