More down than up: Compared to bipolar i disorder, type ii presents more frequent depressive episodes and shorter intervals of well-being and as few as one less severe up episode (hypomania). These people are more chronic and at a greater suicide risk. It is very hard to diagnose since it looks like depression to most people.
