Variable: Pda is connection between pulmonary artery and aorta that never closed after birth. Surgery for PDA is variable.Most common method is a left sided thoracotomy, opening chest, and sutures or metallic vascular clips occluding shunt.Sometimes interventional cardiologist via a catheter can place an amplatzer vasculer plug device, spring with two discs occluding ductus.Pda does not usually recur.
