Best prescription for narcolepsy? been on adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) for 14 mo and by 2-3pm i can't keep my eyes open! still don't sleep but that barely keeps me awake now.

Narcolepsy: Other options would be ssris, snris, tricyclic antidepressants, or xyrem. Also, another possibility is adjusting the stimulant dose. Discuss those with your prescribing doctor.

Narcolepsy treatment: Have you consulted a sleep specialist and had a sleep study?. There are newer medications that have been shown to be helpful in narcolepsy. Provigil and Nuvigil are related medications that are alternatives to conventional stimulants and are well tolerated usually with no insomnia, like stimulants..
