?Retained tampon: Std is always possible in these instance. The more worrisome concern is if the tampon is still in place. This could have led to vaginal wall injury during intercourse. A bacterial infection (from an std or not) is a real and more urgent possibility if indeed the tampon is still retained. Do not wait til the morning to see the doctor if this is the case.
