Not likely . . .: We very rarely measure metabolism (although can be done in most university physiology labs) but claim someone has a high metabolism if they eat a lot & stay skinny. Those who just look at food & gain weight (just a figure of speech) are said to have slow metabolism. Regular exercise is best way to increase metabolism. If you're still concerned, ask your doc about checking your thyroid.(tsh test).
