Likely : Do not jump back into the same ;level of physical activity as you did prior to your tear; rather, take baby steps so your can get to know your body and your limits. If experiencing any discomfort, discuss it with your doctor, sports medicine specialist, physiatrist or foot and ankle surgeon. Also keep in mind that your body is 4 years older.

Re-rupture: It's probably healed after 3-4 years of rest, but it may not function the same as before unless it was treated properly. The achilles tendon can retract and further separate at the tear sights, even if it scars and heals, it will be weaker than before. Physical therapy is usually recommended to help strengthen it, but usually, if treated with only rest, you're at risk for re-rupture. Good luck.
