Keep perspective: In terms of the neurobiological perspective there is some evidence that amyloid plaque deposition and neurodegenerative cascades are set in motion by concussions that can silently degrade brain health over years. I would not obsessively worry as not everyone gets severe brain damage and i would just focus on preventing additional concussions as the damage multiplies with sequential concussions.

Avoid concussions: What has been shown in numerous studies is that concussions have a cumulative effect. Although you have now recovered, you want to be cautious about future concussions. The entity of "dementia pugilistica" is well known and is attributed to multiple concussions over a lifetime (ie. In boxing). The long term effects can have severe cognitive manifestations.
