Salt water rinse: For now you can do salt water rinses until you can see a dentist.

See a dentist: You need to see a dentist/ md immediately for proper diagnosis and treatment. Fortunately, the majority of tongue problems are not serious and most can be resolved quickly in some instances, though, a discolored or painful tongue can indicate more serious conditions, including vitamin deficiencies, aids, or oral cancer. For this reason, it is important to seek medical advice.

See your dentist: It's important that you see your dentist to find out what it is and what's causing it. There are so many possibilities that it would not be a good idea to just 'make it feel better'. Some of these sores are benign and will heal on their own, while others require a definitive diagnosis and treatment. Any sore that is not gone in two weeks is potentially serious!
