Muscle building: 10 to 12 reps is more aerobic, 6 to 8 reps and going down after each set is more designed for building muslce than cardiovascular health. Don't rest more than 10 to 15 seconds between sets, make sure you fatigue the muscle exercised in each set. Best wishes.
