10 weeks ago i was hit by a car, calf now has an area of numbness - physios say that it is not nerve damage and movement will return with stretches.

EMG/NCS: Get this test by neurologist or physical medicine and rehab doctor. It will tell you if you have nerve damage or not. Best of luck!

See a physiatrist : A physiatrist- or doctor of physical medicine and rehabilitation- can perform a thorough nerve and muscle exam to determine the cause of your numbness and to determine the best course of rehabilitation. They may order an electomyelogram to further assess the numbness if a cause can not be determined for the exam alone.
