Stop the vinegar: Since vinegar is acidic, using it may not help you neutralize the stomach acid. In addition, Prevacid (lansoprazole) is degraded rapidly in an acidic environment. This is the reason the contents of a Prevacid (lansoprazole) capsule contains microbeeded technology to protect the active ingredient from stomach acid. Adding more acid, vinegar, may overwhelm this technology and render the prevaid less effective.
