Confused: Ehlers-danlos syndrome (eds) is an expression, a severe one, of the ligament spectrum disorder called joint hypermobility disorder (jhs). Indeed, pots is found in an unusually increased number of persons with jhs. A unifying phenomenon is, in my opinion, parasympathetic stimulation of the pelvic presacral plexus from pelvic girdle joint hypermobility. See comments below.

Ehlers Danlos: 6 major types with names exist.Other types have been reported only in single families or poorly characterized. Except for hypermobility, some mutations have been identified by genetic testing and the clinical presentation is very important since it is rare for a case to fit neatly in a single category, and cross-over symptoms lead to mistaken diagnoses. Do not rely on only one diagnosis.

They can be: POTS and GERD, as well as other autonomic type dysfunctions are fairly common in patients with various presentations of hypermobility. POTS in particular falls under the minor diagnostic criteria for EDS-hypermobility type. POTS and GERD have been described in both EDS-HT and the classic form, however there are many typical signs and symptoms for the classic that are not seen in hypermobility type
