Proteinuria: Proteinuria (p) can be found on a urine analysis. P is a condition, not a diagnosis. It can be caused by several diseases, diabetes among others. You need to see a nephrologist to have a 24 hour urine collected to assess your kidney function and how much p it has. Blood will be taken to help find out the cause of the p. If no diagnosis is found, a kidney biopsy may be be needed to find a diagnosis.
