1+ protein: 1+ protein is the equivalent of 200-500 mg/24 hours. The usual system quantifies protein as 0, trace, and then 1+ to 4+. So there is a source of protein in the urine and the meaning of this needs to be looked at with any other lab abnormalities, signs/symptoms, clinical context.
