Specializes in Neurology

Neuropathy Rx: A neurologist is best-equipped to diagnose & treat neuropathy. Some at-home remedies include: exercise to stimulate blood flow in affected nerves, hot or cold pack on painful area (whichever feels good), moisturizing lotion to protect skin from breakdown, Alpha lipoic acid supplements, vitamin B12 + folate (folic acid) + b6 supplements. Good luck!

Might vary: Should pin down causation. Sensitivity could be c/w allodynia, bad reaction to normal sensation, or hyperpathia, or even a trigger point reaction. This could be suppressed by lyrica, neuron tin, cymbalta, or savella, (milnacipran) but if you have a small fibre process, might find success from a medical food metanx.
