Common, easy fix: Asd=communicatio between upper heart chambers.Incidence 1/1500 live births, m/f ratio =1/2 , 7-10% of heart malformations.Half close spontaneously by 2yo, those that persist >2-4 can be closed by open surgery or sometimes by an umbrella like patch placed thru a catheter in the groin.Untreated adults are at risk of thrombotic stroke, rhythm disturbance or pulmonary probs. No direct inheritance risk.

Depending on the age, are the coronaries normal or with associated coronary artery disease. Tx is closure. Talk to cardiologist.
