Ask your MD: "broken heart syndrome" is now known as takotsubo cardiomyopathy. This is a fairly common cause of poor heart function in younger adults. The good thing about it is that it is almost always completely reversible. So your doctor may have determined that your heart function has returned to normal and you no longer need the medications. All the more reason to stop medications you don't tolerate.
