A member asked:

How probable is a 2 year old to fracture his skull in a short fall?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Skull fractures can be caused by relatively minor injuries and some severe head injuries do not produce skull fractures. Depressed skull fractures, those that are associated with a step-off deformity, are serious and often require surgery. But most skull fractures are minor and frequently require no specific treatment other than careful follow-up with the physician.
